The History of Auktionshuset:
The well-established independent Danish auction house, Auktionshuset i Hørsholm, was founded in 1993 in Hillerød by Ole Steen Christensen. After a few years, the auctions moved to Christianshus in Hørsholm, and in 2013, to its own newly built premises in Ved Klædebo in Hørsholm.
What began as physical hammer auctions has evolved over time into a modern online auction experience. However, we have held onto traditions with four annual physical hammer auctions in Hørsholm featuring selected art and design.
Ownership:
After being a shareholder since 2015, businessman Ib Henrik Rønje took over the company 100% in 2022. Starting from Auktionshuset in Hørsholm as a base, he expanded the business in August 2023 by purchasing the activities from the bankrupted Lauritz.com – thus bringing together a total of 7 auction houses under the company Auktionshuset.com A/S.
